You can collect water in the tank and empty it, or connect a drain hose so the water runs straight to a drain. For the hose, connect it to the drain outlet on the back and keep the hose end lower than the outlet. The steps depend on your model, so find your model below.
Emptying the water tank
- Turn the dehumidifier off and wait at least 5 minutes, so the water inside drains into the tank.
- Slide the tank out from the front.
- Tip the water down a drain.
- Put the tank back and press it firmly into place with both hands. If the tank isn't in place properly, the tank-full light can come on and the dehumidifier stops.
On the Cool-Seasons Premium 10L desiccant dehumidifier (AU1910DD), take the cover off the water bucket before you pour the water away, then put the cover back on. Don't remove or damage the float inside the bucket.
Smart dehumidifiers: Compact 12L (ACD212), Compact+ 16L (ACD216), Large 35L (ACD235), Large+ 45L (ACD245) and Cool-Seasons 10L (ACD200)
If a drain hose came with your dehumidifier, it may be packed inside the water tank. If you need one, use a hose with a 10 mm inner diameter.
- Connect the hose to the drain spout on the back.
- Put the other end in a drain, lower than the spout, or the water won't drain and may overflow.
- Leave the water tank in place. Continuous drainage won't work without it.
To go back to using the tank, disconnect the hose.
Smart dehumidifiers: Medium 20L (ACD220) and Medium+ 25L (ACD225)
These models come with a drain hose.
- Connect the hose to the drain spout on the back.
- Put the other end in a floor drain or sink, lower than the spout.
- Leave the water tank in place.
To go back to using the tank, disconnect the hose.

- Unscrew the drain cap on the back. On the Medium 20L, also remove the soft rubber cover.

Can't get the drain hose out of the water tank?
On some models the drain hose is packed inside the water tank. If you can't reach it, don't force the tank lid, as you could break it. Chat with us and tell us your model number, and our team will show you how.
