The vertical scale on the right-hand side of the LCD Screen indicates the ‘Target Humidity’.
To increase or decrease the desired Target Humidity; press the up or down arrows until you have selected the desired level. As you reduce the target, the black infills on the scale disappear.
30% is for drying very damp areas and/or for drying washing in a domestic laundry environment. Note: ensure that NO items being dried can come within 1 metre of the machine.
40% is the lower end of the normal range for a healthy humidity in a room.
50% is the upper end of the normal range for a healthy humidity in a room.
60% can be selected where slightly higher humidity is acceptable/desired.
Higher levels of target humidity can be selected in situations where a higher humidity is needed, e.g. for specific health issues, etc.
If you want your dehumidifier to continue running regardless of the Relative Humidity, set the Target Humidity to 30%. The dehumidifier will continue to run until the water tank is full.
Please note that your dehumidifier cannot be used to increase the level of humidity in a room, it is designed to reduce the humidity level to the level you select.
It can take some hours for the bucket to fill but you should be able to see if there is any water in the bucket by looking at the plastic window in the front of the bucket.
Sometimes when the room is well below 20 degrees the machine will not be as effective and can switch in and out of ‘defrost’ mode. If you want to overcome this you can place a heater in the room (at least 2 meters away from the Dehumidifier) so that the room is within the optimum operating temperature of 20 to 30 Degrees Celsius.
You don’t always have to run the Dehumidifier at such a low humidity. Usually a setting of 40 to 50 percent is adequate depending on the conditions.
